wow, thats amazing =] the processes that you use to achieve your finished pieces are quite interesting.
can any synthetic fibers be electroplated, or just certain ones? and how did you melt out the fibers?

Thanks! I think any synthetic fibers will work. To melt out, I made sure there was a hole somewhere on the piece and then took an acetylene torch to it. It comes out pretty quick. Make sure to have protection and good ventilation, the fibers are on fire when they drip out, at least the ones I used were.

My god...you never cease to amaze me. Even if I could do more than make a stupid chain, I don't think I could ever top this! This is beautiful!

This is amazing. It really looks like it is done in fabric. I love how you've managed to take the art of dollies and transform it into a new medium.

Thank you very much! I like trying to figure out ways to use crochet as a method for working with metal.

This is lovely! Is the doily made of fabric or wire?

Thank you very much! It's actually neither. I crocheted synthetic fiber and coated it with a copper coating through a process called electroplating. After it has a thick enough layer of copper on it, I melted out the fiber so the doily is hollow and then applied a coating of colored plastic to it.
